Like many purists, I always rename my .cbz files to .zip and my .cbr files to .rar. (or, in my case, convert them to .zip) And, like many people, I extract my comic and manga archives before I view them. Well, until now.
I decided that I’d give specialized comic viewers a try and gathered up the two most likely prospects. (The two comic-specific image viewers I found in the media-gfx section of the Gentoo Linux Portage tree) A Python (using PyGTK) tool named Comix for UNIX-like operating systems, and a wxWidgets-based C++ program named Comical which is available for Linux (and probably other UNIX-like platforms), Windows, and MacOSX.

Long story short, I wrote up a list of all the gender-bending fiction I knew and had so much fun that I did another one for music with decent lyrics. You’ll probably want the master list though.
Enjoy. I’ll be making more as I find the time and inspiration.

Comic Alert!
I haven’t been able to make as much free time as I’d like, but I did manage to find what is proving to be a real time saver. With all of the webcomics I read, checking for updates can be very time-consuming. Especially since many of them don’t provide RSS feeds.
Comic Alert! is a website I found while googling for an RSS feed on a particularly confusing site. Essentially, you sign in (you don’t even need to give an e-mail address) and build a webcomic favorites list.

As you may have guessed, I’ve always loved gender-bending comedy. Though it’s less likely, someone may also have guessed that I enjoy it, not only for the wild and wacky humor, but because I love seeing how the characters react and trying to decide how accurate their reactions would be in real life.

It still surprises me how many people don’t know about Wikipedia. Whether it be research for your math/english/history paper, or looking up some obscure Star Trek/Star Wars/Comic Book/Anime/Manga term, they have it all.
In case you didn’t know, the wiki in Wikipedia is a term referring to a website where any random visitor can edit almost any page. Surprisingly, peer pressure and the dedication of other users keep trouble to a minimum. Since wikis keep a history of changes, and damage is easy to undo. Wikipedia’s stated policies concerning referencing sources and the peer review do the rest. I know this may sound unreliable, but don’t dismiss it before you try it.
